Since a young age, Jessi has studied dance and creative movement. Since her first RYT200 Teacher Training in 2008, Jessi has led retreats and workshops throughout the States, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Bali, and Costa Rica. She completed her RYT500 Certification in 2012 and now leads teacher trainings in places she most enjoys to share.
Jessi teaches a Vinyasa based practice to combine elements of dance and natural movement with traditional yogic sequencing. She incorporates attention to rhythm of the breath, and allows for organic movement to flow in each pose. She is grateful for the journey of yogic creativity and loves to share this movement of bliss with others along the way.
For half of the year, Jessi lives and teaches in Guatemala. Six years ago, she founded JUSTA, a holistic network that connects indigenous artisans, global designers, and projects that promote self-sustaining development, creative expression, and holistic empowerment within family and community. Learn more about JUSTA here.
Jessi, along with her husband Zach, are also in the process of creating a Holistic Retreat Center, Seven Springs, in her mountain home of East Tennessee. Seven Springs is a place of natural abundance and cultural diversity where people learn how to create holistic sustenance for themselves and their communities. The space seeks to provide an innovative and transformative space for local and global communities to experience high quality holistic education. Retreats offered vary from yoga, massage, natural medicines and foods, creativity, social innovation, team-building, eco-building and permaculture.

At Kula Collective we believe in You. We’d like to support your growth into an even more creative and effective facilitator. This is why we are inviting you to join us for this intensive hands on experience that will re-inspire your leadership and re-kindle your confidence. Come learn to learn, and practice facilitating others to do the same.
This Continuing Education intensive is especially devoted to exploring postures, sequences, and essential information for women of all ages in the practice of yoga. We will first look at the physical and emotional anatomy of women and then move into yoga as a remedy for menstrual problems, pregnancy, depression, menopause symptoms and more. We will work through postures with a special emphasis on modifications and using props.
In the foothills of the oldest mountains in the world lies time and space for connection. The sacred stillness of this ancient world is the perfect place to become aware of the divine reflection within yourself. Step out of your daily life to find solace, and step back in strengthened with techniques to maintain balance and honor for that oneness that lies within and outside of you.
On the magical island of Bali, every breath is sacred, every moment can be breathtaking. We wake with the sun, we merge with the sounds of nature, we immerse ourselves in the ancient teachings of Yoga to reveal the wisdom that lies within. As we meditate on the elements of mountains, then coast, we allow the natural flow to re-synchronize our spirits to the rhythms of this wild earth.

“After sharing the exciting news of my pregnancy, a friend commented, “Being so connected with yoga and your body, you’re probably going to really feel all those changes happening inside of you!” At the time, I didn’t realize how true that was.”

"In my eight years leading groups through transformative retreats, workshops, and teacher trainings, the tears always flow when asking questions of being faced with The Unknown: What can I give to this world? How can I unearth my true self from the false beliefs it’s buried under? How can I stand out with my skills and knowledge? How can I discover my unique gifts in this lifetime? What is my purpose, my dharma, my path?"
“The importance of the consciousness of your path is two-fold: you want to represent your country and foreigners in general in a respectful light AND you want to show respect to the culture and corner of the world you find yourself in.”
“I challenge myself to dedicate 2 weeks to speaking each love language to myself to find out which I resonate most with. At the end of these 10 weeks, I will write another blog to discern my thoughts and feelings of this experience. Will you join me in this challenge?”
“Lying in savasana, finding the beautiful balance between stillness of the body and movement of the breath, you close your two eyes to the external world. In that moment, inner awareness increases and connectivity to your inner being opens. Maybe without realizing it, you've just begun to activate your Third Eye.”
