Our16-day Fusion & Integrative Framework

Kula’s 16-day Fusion & Integrative Framework is our newest model that has been created out of our students’ needs for accessibility, engagement and integration. We envision for our 200 hr yoga teacher trainings to not only be a transformational immersive experience for you, but to be a catalyst that bridges the gap between your spiritual and daily life. We want to support and empower you on this inward holistic yoga journey from Guatemala to your home life through online pre and post-training two hour live calls with your facilitators and fellow yoga students.

IN PERSON PORTION

Our in-person 16-day YTTs are designed to bring the teachings alive through learning in a dynamic and interactive community at the sacred location of Guatemala! This is the time to embody the yoga teacher in you through peer teaching and hands-on assists.

We will have an optional Kula Karma day following the training that you will have the opportunity to participate in OR a Karma project after the training to shine your light in your hometown!

Meet Your Kula Co-Founder Facilitators…

Jessi Luna

Since a young age, Jessi has studied dance and creative movement. Since her first RYT200 in 2008, Jessi has led retreats and workshops throughout the US, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Bali, and Costa Rica. She completed her RYT500 Certification in 2012 and now leads teacher trainings in places she most enjoys to share.

Jessi teaches a Vinyasa based practice to combine elements of dance and natural movement with traditional yogic sequencing. She incorporates attention to rhythm of the breath and allows for organic movement to flow in each pose. She is grateful for the journey of yogic creativity and loves to share this movement of bliss with others along the way. 

Jessi, along with her husband Zach and her parents, created Seven Springs Retreat Center in her mountain home of East Tennessee. Inspired by retreat centers from around the world, Seven Springs provides a natural and holistic space for local and global communities to experience high quality holistic education in the United States. Retreats offered vary from yoga, massage, natural medicines and foods, creativity, social innovation, team-building, eco-building and permaculture.

Randi Schiffman

Randi’s open heart, affectionate manner and infectious laugh create an instant environment of friendship and authenticity. A true pollinator of people, her direct communication, sense of humor and energizing, activating manner allow for deep work to be done with a sense of playful acceptance for what is.

Randi ERYT 500 has taught over 50 yoga teacher trainings since 2010. Her expertise is in sharing Holistic Yoga, a well rounded practice including meditation, pranayama, mudra, bandha, mantra, theme weaving and intelligent sequencing. A certified Thai Massage Therapist, she is especially known for her firm and intuitive based hands on assists.  She facilitates with a strong energy and passion for the practice which supports her compassionate, graceful and empathic nature. She has an innate ability to take in knowledge, experience it, and share wisdom in an authentic way.

She is internationally known as a teacher of teachers.  Her embodied and empowered approach to life provides an inspiration to students, encouraging all to access their inner wisdom through authenticity and radical self love.

Co-Founder Guest Teachers

JIYA JULIA RANDALL

Jiya Julia Randall is one of the founders of international yoga school and retreats organization Kula Collective and a guide for empowered and conscious living.

Jiya is a deeply connected leader who roots her teaching in the healing energy of nature.  Her teaching invites students to explore their own, unique unfolding, through profound awareness and trust in the wisdom of the Self.  Through her studies with teachers and shamans across the world, Julia has developed a powerful sense of energetic connection and a strong set of philosophical and intuitive teachings, which she shares through creative hatha and yin yoga, sacred fire and medicine ceremonies, kirtan and healing therapies.  Jiya is also a talented musician and sound healer, who seeks out native chants and medicine songs from around the world to complement her work.

Jiya is YA-certified at the ERYT-500 level and has facilitated both intensive and module-format teacher trainings at RYT-200 and RYT-300 levels for several years, through multiple schools.  Following her degree in Physics at Imperial College, London, Julia worked as an Energy Consultant and part time copywriter and editor in London, UK, before moving to Central America in 2009 to pursue a life centered on yoga and holistic health.  British by birth, Jiya is now based in Bali and teaches in Thailand, Australia, Mexico, Greece, USA, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Peru.

ZACHARY TOWNESMITH

Zachary inspires participation and thoughtful consensus in a wide array of groups. He is dedicated to developing intercultural relations and facilitating innovative solutions for regenerative well-being. 

His Cum Laude B.A. from Harvard College led him to explore issues of privilege and work for justice from his hometown of Philadelphia to the Guatemala City garbage dump. This work has taken him throughout the Americas engaging diverse stakeholders in strategic planning through the development of creative and critical thinking in fields such as education, public health, business, creative industries, and entrepreneurship. 

His 500hr Yoga Teacher training instills a diversity and depth to his facilitation. He embodies these ancient practices in ways that are socially relevant and culturally appropriate

He believes that interpersonal relationships and creativity are the keys to regenerative enterprise, and works in settings ranging from corporate board rooms to dirt-floored rural schools.  His multi-cultural and multi-lingual fluency are valuable assets as groups develop and maintain creative environments of respect and trust. Zach brings a deep love of learning and leads the evaluation process of the Kula Collective YTT curricula. In order to evaluate students’ learning and to support their integration he adapted the Flow Design process to fit in to all Kula teacher training certifications. This ensures that all graduates have honed their personal Vision and designed a 90-day plan to begin to integrate their experiences into the rest of their lives. 


About Casa Kula

Casa Kula is the Guatemalan home of Coby and Ananda, two of our Kula Collective co-founders. It is an eco-friendly and nourishing space, filled with all the comforts of home, including healing herbs, tropical fruits, loving animals and warm smiles. Casa Kula is located in Tzununa, in the western highlands of Guatemala, with stunning views of the serene Lake Atitlan and her volcanoes seen through banana palms, avocado trees and lush green coffee forests.

    7:30-8:30 Kirtan, sharing and meditation (Art of Healing) {every other day}

    8:30-9:30 Studying or journaling in Silence

    Every 4th day of the 8 day cycle is a half day, and every 8th day a full day of Self Sadhana.
